Bridging the gap Building communities

What is MindMatters?

Mind Matters is a free platform supporting under-supported schools with resources like live tutoring, courses, and educational materials. It's dedicated to empowering students academically and emphasizes language accessibility. The platform also aims to create a supportive community for student success.

Did you know?

Students in lower-income schools often contend with inexperienced instructors, a restricted range of coursework, limited instructional resources, and lack of language resources. These challenges can hinder their educational opportunities and overall academic growth.

Language Accessibility

Our Competitors

Upon research we noticed that almost none of the resources available offered language accessibility.

Our Solution

Create a website that provides online tutoring as well as the ability to filter language results for students whose first language is not English. Additionally, provide a space for community resources and support.

Users can now look at their school classes and look for a tutor based on the subject.

Users can also filter for language spoken when browsing for tutors. It is also easier than ever to book a meeting time with the selected tutor.

Lastly, users now have a community page where they can connect with peers.

The Outcome

Easy access for students in underfunded schools to access tutors.

Ability for non-English speaking students to find tutors within their language.

The beginnings of a community for first generation students and parents to connect.

  • Adding additional information access on the tutors that the students will be signing up with.

  • Create new flows for both teachers and parents and how they will interact with the website.
